Golden Week Update: Two Custom Pillow Sample Projects, One Goal—Getting the Details Right

While many people are enjoying the Golden Week holiday in China, two new custom memory foam pillow sample projects have kept us busy at MINCOLEN.

Both projects involve adding a brand logo to the pillow cover. It sounds like a small change, but the choice of logo method, size, color and position can make a noticeable difference to the finished product.

For brands developing a new pillow range, these details help turn a product idea into something ready for customers to see, touch and evaluate.

Embroidery or Heat Transfer Printing?

For these projects, we are offering two logo options: embroidery and heat transfer printing.

Embroidery gives the logo a textured finish, with visible stitching that becomes part of the pillow cover. It can work particularly well for a simple symbol or a clean brand mark. On a gray cover, a small white embroidered logo can provide clear contrast while keeping the overall appearance understated.

Heat transfer printing offers a smoother finish and may suit designs with more color or detail. The result depends on the artwork, transfer material and cover fabric, so we review these together before confirming the sample.

There is no single method that suits every project. We help customers choose based on the look they want, the fabric they are using and how the pillow will be presented in their market.

A Small Logo Can Be Enough

A pillow does not always need a large logo to communicate its brand.

For a clean design, we often suggest a small mark near an upper corner, outside the main area where the head rests. The upper-right area can be a starting point, but the final position should follow the pillow’s shape and its normal sleeping orientation.

This is particularly useful for ergonomic pillows, where curves, raised sections and seams affect how the logo looks.

Before sampling, we confirm the position and proportions on an image. A little adjustment at this stage can help avoid a logo that feels too large, too close to the edge or out of balance with the product.

Choosing Colors for the Cover

Logo colors can be customized to match the brand and pillow cover.

White can create a simple, clear contrast on gray fabric. Other lighter colors can give a softer appearance or connect the pillow with an existing product collection.

The sample is where these choices become easier to judge. Customers can check the actual thread or print color alongside the cover fabric, rather than relying only on a screen image.

Testing a Brand Idea with Smaller Quantities

A new pillow project does not always need to begin with a large order.

At MINCOLEN, light logo customization can start from around 500 pieces when the pillow cover does not require special construction. This gives brands room to test market response while reducing initial inventory and cash commitments.

Custom retail boxes have separate quantity requirements, which we confirm according to the packaging design.

We aim to keep sampling moving efficiently. The schedule is confirmed after reviewing the pillow model, cover availability, artwork and logo method.

Keeping Projects Moving During Golden Week

These two sample projects are a reminder that product development often moves forward through small, practical decisions.

Choosing a logo method. Adjusting its size. Confirming the color. Checking the placement.

During Golden Week, we are continuing to coordinate these details so our customers can move closer to reviewing their samples.
