Six months ago, the freight to UAE was only 1/9 of what it is now. Many orders got stuck in transit, and across the industry, suppliers and buyers alike were holding their breath, waiting for rates to come down.
We shared the updated rates with a lot of our old clients. Honestly, we didn’t expect anyone to react fast — most people prefer to wait these things out.
Then one buyer replied. “Still too much,” he said. Yet he didn’t wait.
Instead, he asked for new designs and better quality — because he was building something for a different level of customers. We sent him our latest items. He said he’d think about it.
He thought about it for around one day.
Then he paid for the samples: “I want to make my own brand. Send me everything.”
That was it. No weeks of back-and-forth. No price negotiations that dragged on.
Before publishing this story, we asked for his permission. He agreed without hesitation — and said he hopes it encourages more business people out there. That’s the kind of person he is: a win is always bigger when it’s shared.
Most people complain that business has never been harder (including me😄). And in a way, they’re right — the market has changed. But there’s always someone who sees the change as a chance. An even bigger one than before.
